Bibliography for a Trichinopoly Pendants Class

3 texts were consulted in preparing for this class:

Geijer, Agnes
Birka III Die Textilefunde aus den Grabern
Almquist & Wiksells Boktryckeri-A.-B., 1938

Out of print but get it ILL if you can. Taf. 31 has the photos of the
actual bits of wire pendants. Pages 109- 114 is the text section on
Osenstich, in German.

Petersen, Irene From
[Smykker fra Vikingetid, og du selv kan lave. English]
Great Wire Jewelry: Projects & Techniques
Lark Books, 1998 [English]

While this book does not contain instructions for making this kind of
pendant it does contain excellent instructions with clear descriptions
and illustration for over 70 projects with wire, many using Osenstich,
the same stitch used in the pendants.

Jacobs, Helene
Ancient Wire: An illustrated guide to making intricate jewelry in the
manner of the Vikings and other ancient cultures. 80 page
booklet. Chapter 16 - Hollow Oval" pg 65 - 70 is on Trichinopoly
Pendants.

I believe this is self published. I purchased my copy at Pennsic 36 for
$20. The author has a website www.ancientwire.com.
