LAW I
The First Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW I) was held in Prague in conjunction with ACL 2007.
The LAW I merged NLPXML: Natural Language Processing and XML and FLAC: Frontiers in Linguistically Annotated Corpora. FLAC was a merger between Linguistically Interpreted Corpora (LINC) and Frontiers in Corpus Annotation (FCA). In total, the LAW I was the convergence of fourteen previous workshops (5 NLPXML, 1 FLAC, 6 LINC and 2 FCA).

The Second Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW II) was held in May 2008 in conjunction with the Sixth Language Resources and Evaluation Conference (LREC 2008) in Marrakech, Morocco.

The Third Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW III) was held in August 2009 in conjunction with the Joint conference of the 47th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics and the 4th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing of the Asian Federation of Natural Language Processing (ACL/IJCNLP 2009) in Singapore.

The The Fourth Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW IV) was held in July 2010 in conjunction with the 48th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL 2010) in Uppsala, Sweden.

The Fifth Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW V) was held in June 2011 in conjunction with the The 49th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics: Human Language Technologies (ACL-HLT 2011) in Portland, Oregon.

The Sixth Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW V) was held in July 2012 in conjunction with the The 50th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL 2012) in Jeju, South Korea.
