Espeak: an odd pronounciation

Hi All,
I've noticed recent discussion of the Espeak speech server on this list. I'm glad to report that it is so far working well enough for me to get things done with it. I felt that it might be prudent to mention some odd pronounciations, however. I've noticed occasionally, with parentheses mostly, that when I type or otherwise hear them read the program says something like "Left, backprime, p1-paren." I wonder if this has something to do with the TTS server substitutions mentioned previously on this list, or is a particular of how Espeak is being given the data to speak. If it makes any difference, I'm running Espeak 1.37, from Gentoo's portage system, and Emacspeak 28.0 also from portage. (I might switch to SVN, though, if it'll change anything.)
Best,
Zack.
