Re: emacspeak and xemacs, or emacs from gui

   I had tried posting a reply to the list about 20 hours ago; for
   some reason, it seems that the reply did not get to the list,
   perhaps not to you either.

The safest solution might be to login into a console and then start X
windows by doing
$startx

Your .xinitrc file should look something like this:
#!/bin/sh
xrdb -load .Xdefaults
/home/kalyan/emacspeak &
exec gnome-session


Here emacspeak is the shell script which ought to specify the speech-server.
The essential part of my script is:


EMACS_UNIBYTE=1
export EMACS_UNIBYTE
     export DTK_PROGRAM=/usr/local/bin/eflite
exec emacs -q -l /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emacspeak/lisp/emacspeak-setup.el $INITSTR $CL_ALL
