term-mode emacspeak-speaking bug?

run program [/bin/bash]: ret
when i enter term, i hear:
zero four
instead of bash-2.04#
what is going on?
emacspeak 14.0, 
i keep switching linux distros (
i'm working on a project ot get dtpc working over serial port).
