thanks for your reply. i have tried using actual copies of the wicdget libraries. i have also tried putting the libraries in /usr/local/shar... i guess i'm asking for suggestions on what to try next? how can i tell if emacs can see the /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp dirrectory? any ideas? thanks in advance, bart.
