Bradley E. Richards


Bradley Richards is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Vassar College, where he has taught since 1996. He holds B.A. degrees in Physics and Computer Science, an M.Sc. in Computer Science, and earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin -- Madison, where his research was on custom memory-system support for distributed shared-memory parallel computers. In addition to his continuing work on parallel and distributed computing, Dr. Richards is active in Computer Science education, having authored numerous papers on pedagogy and curricular issues. He was a member of the Pedagogy Focus Group that made recommendations to the ACM/IEEE Computing Curriculum 2001 committee regarding advanced study topics in Computer Science, and has participated in a number of workshops and working groups devoted to education issues. Dr. Richards has managed successful NSF CCLI and MRI grants, both of which demonstrated an ability to involve undergraduate students in research.
