The problem was that one of the server maps needed to be manually rebuilt after changes made to our system. They do not mount your Linux home space. User space on the Mac’s is not persistent. You'll be happy to hear that this means you already have a secure shell client installed, the Unix native ssh. You will find it from the Terminal - more on that later.
