ACL Special Interest Group for Annotation


SIGANN is a Special Interest Group of the Association for Computational Linguistics for researchers concerned with all aspects of linguistic annotation of language resources. Its activities include:
  • The exchange and propagation of research results with respect to the annotation, manipulation and exploitation of annotated language resources, taking into account different applications and theoretical investigations in the field of language technology and research;
  • Working towards harmonization and interoperability of linguistic annotations from the perspective of the increasingly large number of tools and frameworks tht support the creation, instantiation, manipulation, and exploitation of annotated resources;
  • Working towards consensus on all issues critical to the advancement of the field of language resource annotation;
  • sponsorship of the annual Linguistic Annotation Workshop.

The Fifteenth Linguistic Annotation and Third Designing Meaning Representations Joint Workshop will be held in conjunction with The 2021 Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing (EMNLP 2021), 7th-11th November 2021, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (or virtually if necessary).
