Can't Install Emacspeak!

I'm trying to install emacspeak 26.0 on my slackware 11.0 box and the
installation fails when I do a 'make install'.  It seems it is looking
for servers/linux-espeak but that file doesn't exist so make fails.
There's a file called espeak in servers/ but I tried renaming it to
linux-espeak but I then got the error it couldn't find servers/espeak
so it apparently needs both of these.  What is the problem here? Yes,
I do want to use it with espeak but right now, I can't get past the
'make install'.

Can anyone help out here?
