The patch that I just sent gets rid of one of the known issues with the eSpeak server: sluggishness when moving line-by-line through a buffer. The sluggishness is caused by all of the tts_sync_state calls. These eventually call espeak_SetParameter, which seems to be a fairly expensive operation in some cases. -- Chris
