Introduction and proposed contribution

Hello Ramon and list,

Just to chip in my experience:

Using debian squeeze, and so emacs 23, with emacspeak 33.0 using
outloud, and orca using espeak via gnome speech services,
emacspeak works fine in a gnome terminal. The outloud voice takes
over, and orca is quiet. I have neither pulseaudio nor
speech-dispatcher installed.

I actually use emacspeak inside a virtual console though, since it is
a bit more responsive.
