Errors Executing Emacspeak

Hi:

I have recently installed Redhat 5.0. I have obtained Emacspeak 9.0 and
have had no errors during make config, make emacspeak, or make install.
All seemed OK. So far, so good.

When I try 'tcl /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emacspeak/dtk-exp' my DEC Talk
starts talking saying something like:

Command error in command off
Command error in string value
This is the DEC Talk Express

then it says some garbage that makes no sense and drops me at a per cent
symbol (%) prompt.

If I run emacspeak.sh then the emacs pops up with a message onscreen that
says "process speaker not running."

I'm befuddled. Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.
