terminal echo problem

Folks,

I am connecting to a server on our department network using ssh and notice
that every command I type at the shell prompt is echoed with a ^m at the
end before the command actually executes. Is this due to the fact that I
may be running 2 shells -- 1 local and one on the remote machine?

I assume that that if this is the case, then using the remote speech server
setup will solve it?

Thanks,

-- Jim
