I would suggest uncommenting the line in the Makefile reading
#CFLAGS+= -DDEBUG=2
and recompiling.  This will cause eflite to create a file in your home
directory called es.log, where it will log a lot of stuff.  Hopefully in
your case it will log whatever is causing the exit.

Thanks for tracking down the NULL lang problem in finish().  The code
really should be checking to ensure that lang is not NULL, which,
incidentally, it always will be for a parent that forks.  I have now fixed
this in cvs, although it probably will not help you much.
