I've talked with Alan about Theta (albeit not in the past few weeks, so I
don't know exactly where things stand right now).  They were going to
offer a library which could be linked against eflite.

Of course, eflite can currently be compiled against only one voice,
although it shouldn't be too much trouble to get it to support multiple
voices.
