Hi. This seems to be a common problem many people have when installing
emacspeak and viavoice. What you might need to do is to go to the
directory, I think it is:
/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emacspeak/servers/linux-outloud or
something on that order and type make. When the make is finished, all
should go well.
