Thanks a lot to you and Lukas, now it is working :-)

Now I have another question:
Does the tts engine tell emacspeak when it has spoken the last string?

I ask this because when a new message drops in while a prior message
get's spoken the first one is aborted and the new one is spoken. So
in a discussion you very often do *not* hear all messages. If emacspeak
would know when a message is spoken to the end, this could be changed.

BTW I'm using eflite right now.
