I don't think the Arch PKGBUILD is broken for prod or svn because the
make step fails with same errors when I did it by hand down in the
info directory.  Besides, I want to use the page system so it can be
tracked and managed with the package management system rather than the
other way.  It is much easier to remove or upgrade packages when you
use the management system instead of "make install" or "make
uninstall".
