Re: Playing Sounds Within Emacspeak

This will toggle auditory icons on/off in the current buffer. C-u C-e C-a will toggle auditory icons on/off globally and you can add the line

(emacspeak-toggle-auditory-icons t)

to your ~/.emacs file.

If I remember correctly, hit c-e c-a.

This may have been discussed before but I can't remember where. I have
emacspeak running with espeak as the speech synth with default
settings. I also have speakup running with espeakup but I silence
speakup in the console running emacs. So far, so good. However, I
don't get any introductry sounds or auditory icons from emacspeak. Are
there other settings I must change to get these working? Oh and this
happens with no PulseAudio running.

What might I be missing here?

Thanks.
