Re: Lost emacspeak from my info tree



For the Info manual of Emacspeak to work, two conditions need to be
met:

1. /usr/info must contain the Emacspeak manual files (e.g.
   emacspeak.info), which can be verified with:
ls /usr/info/emacspeak.info*

2. The file /usr/info/dir must contain an entry that refers to the
   emacspeak.info file (the format of the entries should be quite
   self-explanatory).

In general, automatic conversion of rpm files into .deb format is
known to be risky. You would be better served by downloading the
Emacspeak 14.0 source code from the Emacspeak web site, then compiling
and installing it manually.
