Auditory icons

Hello,

I am using Slackware 7.1, EMACS  20.7.2, emacspeak 14.0, with sound
card creative emsoniq audio pci 97 (es1371), which has dsp 0 and dsp1
sound channels.  I am still unable to get the audio icons to work:  I
have traced that the play command does not run when it should, but
don't know where to go from here.  Any ideas?
