literacy aid?

Has anyone used emacspeak as an aid to improving literacy.

I've now run two classes, and everyone had such fun, it seems it may 
become a regular fixture. Today the students picked an article out of 
the newspaper, and copy-typed it.

I'd like to hear of any more professional experiences.
