Help with w3-4.0pre.47??

Emacs version is 20.7-41;
Linux distro is rh 7.2;
Emacspeak version is 15.0-1.

I have built and installed per instructions in the "README" supplied.  
When I start w3, some things load, and the browser makes contact with 
'cs.indiana.edu'.  After 80% of the page is parsed, I get the error, 
"wrong type argument stringp nil".

Any idea what's causing this?
