EMACS_UNIBYTE and installing auctex



Hi Peter, I am a computer illiterate person who uses AucTeX 11.55 with
Emacspeak
 mainly for writing mathematics. 

Thanks for the warning about the`bleeding edge' version of
AucTeX! Unfortunately I could not quite understand what you were
asking me to do in the shell buffer before `making' AucTeX.

Could you be a little more explicit: if this is off-topic for the list
feel free to write to me directly.
