The reason why make install failed was due to a minor bug in the
section that installs the documentation Makefile --I've since fixed
this, and you should download a fresh copy of emacspeak when you are
eventually ready to .
However, I still think you should wait till your other problems are
fixed before doing a make install.
Debugging the kind of problem you were having earlier today is hard
enough when everything in one place; I definitely wont be able to help
if you choose to install a partially working system.
