Re: Alternatives to VM for mail



That's what surprised me, I had email already working and it was coming into a different spool file location correctly specified by the $MAIL variable but gnus didn't use the contents of $MAIL then. Maybe this was a bug that got fixed since my last try with the program.

It should use the location given in the MAIL environment variable by
default.  More sophisticated setups are possible by configuring the
mail-sources variable.
