Thanks Jason. You pretty much confirm what I felt as well. I do plan to put
Debian on it as that is my preferred distro. There seem to be quite a few
blogs out there where people talk about the 'hacks' they have done to the
EEEPC. For its price, it seems like a very nice bit of equipment.

P.S. I envy your luck in being able to get to Linux Conf. Work keeps making
promises that they will pay for me to go or at the very least, give me time
off to go. So far, over the last 3 years, there has always been some
'business critical' reason I couldn't go! Maybe next year.
