Bart,
the gcontacts.py script is a clone from the samples that come
with the python GData library for implementing the Google
Contacts and other APIs.
The elisp wrapper is very light-weight --
at the shell, just run python -i <script>
then at the prompt, import contacts, and then create a new
"Shell" -- then run it.
