Re: emacspeak operation failure



Done, and I got emacspeak to read me its news file too. So emacspeak is working over here. So Slackware manages to stay current I'll probably need to contact someone over there and pass them the repository address for git and emacspeak since emacspeak moved from svn to git probably after the date when slackware had its last emacspeak update.

Hi Jude,

check that there isn't already a tclespeak.so file in that directory. If
there is and it has a timestamp that is equal or later than the *.cpp file,
make will report nothing to do as it believes that the *.so file is
up-to-date.

Alternatively, do a make clean and then follow it with make.

You need to compile the C code of the server.

I always test the speech server before running Emacspeak as the
documentation
suggests. It saves time and frustration.
