Re: Emacspeak for windows

I would strive to use the latest version of Emacspeak and latest version of Emacs available for windows. I would probably stick to latest stable version of Emacspeak for this project and not mess with latest git builds. windows is bad enough as it is without introducing possible stability issues with a git build.

For some reason, I thought it was a lot harder to get Emacspeak working on a windows environment. I forget if anything had to be tweaked to get it working. I realize the speech interface for windows is completely different from the linux side for speech. But the rest of Emacspeak is elisp files so not sure if much else would need customizing for windows or not.

The main thing that doesn’t work for me with Emacspeak for windows is I get no auditory icons and like I said earlier, left and right arrow keys don’t speak; I have to rely on my windows screen reader to speak those keys. Oh and that also applies to c-f and c-b keys so it’s not specific keystrokes that don’t work; it is the cursor movement some how.
