I got espeak working on MacOS without much issue.  I love the beepcaps 
from it!  I tried to get Dectalk working but was unable to find the required 
tts library for MacOS.  I will revisit my issues in a new thread if they repeat.

I haven't tried outloud yet, will attempt that tonight.  Absolutely knowing
exactly what it sounds like for you minus notifications would be excellent.

And regarding breaking MacOS releases, hopefully with Swiftmac 2 using 
the iOS libraries they will be well supported into the future.
