What was the result of
tcl dtk-exp

If you tcl dies or you can't type in your tcl prompt after performing
the above command, then you should follow Raman's note regarding using
emacspeak 9.0 under Solaris.
If you can't find his note, let me know, I can find it and forward it
to you.
