When editing Emacs Lisp files (and I am sure that the same holds for other
programming languages), Emacspeak announces the level of indentation when
executing the previous-line and next-line commands.

I am sure that there are other helpful functions in this area as well, but
since programming is not my field of expertise I can't be more specific.
