Suggest you re-install GCC 

Also in the time of cheap disk space install *everything*
and then progressively delete stuff --this is a better
strategy than to pick and choose.


If the error persists, then try the viavoice sample apps,
and if that hits an error report it on the Viavoice list--
if those sample apps work, but the emacspeak server barfs,
let me know on this list.
