ViaVoice speech rate

Hi all,

Excuse for this question which is very basic but I'm very newbie with Emacs
and Emacspeak. I installed emacspeak 15.0 on a Debian system with ViaVoice.
Now I try to change the ViaVoice speech rate but unfortunatly I don't
succeed. I type C-e d r and after that the new value but the speech rate
stay the same even after reloading Emacs and Emacspeak. what am I missing ?
