Assignment 1:

There are links to a template file called a1S20.tex and a1S20.pdf below. If you want to use LaTeX to write your solutions, download and modify the a1S20.tex file. You will get 1 point of extra credit if your solution is done in LateX. If you choose to use LaTeX, please print the pdf file after you run LaTeX on the tex file and hand in a paper copy by the due date (Thursday, Feb. 6th).

If you choose not to use LaTeX, print out the pdf file given below and write your solutions on the printed pdf file or on notebook paper (as a last resort, no jagged edges please). Hand in a paper copy of your solutions.

Turn in your homework by either slipping it under the door of my office (SP306) or handing it to me.

You will get 1 point of extra credit if your solution is done in LaTeX. If you choose to use LaTeX, you can create an asmt3 subdirectory and use the command
                   submit241 w-asmt3 asmt3 
to submit the files on or before Thursday, Feb. 20th, at 5 pm, or you can submit a paper copy. I will grade the assignment to hand back to you by Monday, Feb. 24th, in lecture.

If you choose not to use LaTeX, you have a couple of options:
  1. print out the pdf file given below and write your solutions on the printed pdf file or on notebook paper (as a last resort, no jagged edges please). Print and turn in the stapled paper copy of your homework on or before Thursday, Feb. 20th, at 5 pm by either slipping it under the door of my office (SP306) or handing it to me,

  2. OR

  3. scan your hand-written file and submit the file using the submit241 command given above.

I will deduct points if your scanned or hand-written file is not legible to me and I expect you to thoroughly proofread your solutions whether using LaTeX or not.

There are links to a template file called a4S20.tex and a4S20.pdf below. If you want to use LaTeX to write your solutions, download and modify the a4S20.tex file. You will get 1 point of extra credit if your solution is done in LaTeX. If you choose to use LaTeX, you can create an asmt4 subdirectory and use the command
                   submit241 w-asmt4 asmt4 
to submit the files on or before Friday, March 6th, but you should also submit a paper copy (slide it under my office door. I will grade the assignment to hand back to you after break.

If you choose not to use LaTeX, you have a couple of options:
  1. print out the pdf file given below and write your solutions on the printed pdf file or on notebook paper (as a last resort, no jagged edges please).
