What common programming mistake are you?: non static variable cannot be referenced from a static context

Something people might not know about me: I came into Vassar being pre-law/IS and then I took a CS class as a “wild card class” and ended up loving it and declared the next semester!
What common programming mistake are you?: Using a variable I only defined in my head and then being confused when there's an error.
Favorite thing about CS: Solving a problem/passing all the tests after struggling with it for a long time!

What common programming mistake are you?: NullPointerException, sometimes there's nothing there
Favorite thing about CS: Seeing your project compile and run properly

Where I’m from: Bronx, NY
Majors/ correlates: Computer Science, and a correlate in mathematics.
Something people might not know about me: I played volleyball and flag football in high school and have watched well over 100+ TV shows..
What common programming mistake are you?: Syntax error. Brain simply works too fast for all those regulations
Favorite thing about CS: Finishing any assignment or lab after endless trial and error, and the community I have been able to find.

Favorite thing about CS: The aspect of problem solving and seeing no errors pop up.

VC++:

VC++ is Vassar’s only computer science centered org. Our goal is to build a strong computer science community on campus. This year we’re working on creating a student-run makerspace, setting up an interview prep & study group, and running multiple workshops.

ColorStack @ VC is a branch of VC++, focusing on providing academic support and career development resources for Black/Latinx/Indigenous students in tech. Vassar's chapter is one of nearly 40 chapters across the nation, with the national organization serving over 8,000 members.
