This is basically what's got me upset with the current state of
speech-dispatcher.  The main speech-dispatcher dev makes supporting
any non-Orca app a pain.  Emacspeak at least supports two
applications, and unfortunately, that makes it better than
speech-dispatcher from a user perspective.

As a third possibility, I understand that Android has a light weight
back end for speech.  Would it make sense to look at using it in
Vinux?
